“It’s too risky. Unless you want to get caught,” he snapped.
She groaned loudly. “And I’d just gotten used to sleeping in a bed.”
“Yeah, and I’d just gotten used to you showering.”
She threw a pillow at him, which he dodged with ease. “You jerk!”
“I’m kidding! Kidding! I smell much worse than you do.”
She rolled her eyes, then picked up her traveling backpack and began to fill it. Who knew when they’d rest again.

“Excuse me, miss, why the sad face? Haven’t you heard? The war’s over!”
Éponine gave the stranger next to her half a glance and sighed. “Maybe it is. But my heart is still not free.”
She jumped when she felt hands on her shoulders and was tugged up against the man who’d just spoken to her.
“That’s because your heart belongs with me,” Enjolras said.
She barely had time to let out a gasp before he was kissing her, right in the middle of Times Square. When they broke apart, she had tears in her eyes.
“I didn’t think I’d ever see you again,” she whispered.
“You can’t get rid of me that easily,” he grinned, then allowed her to pull him down for another kiss.
