Les Misérables AU: Éponine/Enjolras
It’s World War II and when young nurse Éponine meets the dashing sailor Enjolras, the two begin a passion filled romance—until he is stationed far away from her. But the saying has been said, “If you love someone, set them free. If they come back, then it was meant to be.”
“Excuse me, miss, why the sad face? Haven’t you heard? The war’s over!”
Éponine gave the stranger next to her half a glance and sighed. “Maybe it is. But my heart is still not free.”
She jumped when she felt hands on her shoulders and was tugged up against the man who’d just spoken to her.
“That’s because your heart belongs with me,” Enjolras said.
She barely had time to let out a gasp before he was kissing her, right in the middle of Times Square. When they broke apart, she had tears in her eyes.
“I didn’t think I’d ever see you again,” she whispered.
“You can’t get rid of me that easily,” he grinned, then allowed her to pull him down for another kiss.
